Why It Is Important To Pick The Right Chiropractic Clinic
“The Well For You” with Dr. Garst
Picking a chiropractic doctor is like picking any other doctor– you should do a little research and be selective! According to spine-health online, and we completely agree, the first chiropractic visit should include, “patient history and overview, chiropractic exam, and diagnostic studies.”* Notice that nothing is mentioned regarding an adjustment during this critical first meeting. A chiropractor who truly understands and honestly cares takes the time for a thorough and educated consultation. If a clinic or doctor is not concerned about your health history including current symptoms and conditions, your physical state such as range of motion and muscle strength, and/or what is really going on with your spine or problem area via X-rays or related exam, then you’re not really getting the very best care. In fact, treatment without a thorough consultation and examination can actually worsen an unseen problem or create other problems. Simply throwing someone on a table for a quick, non-strategized adjustment is not really helping anyone. We’re talking about your spine here. If you’re looking for a walk-in, non-diagnosed, in-and-out back “cracking,” we don’t recommend that. Whether it’s our clinic or another, be sure you get a thorough consultation, physical exam, and diagnostic test before allowing any chiropractor to manipulate your spine or other problem areas. We advise that while researching, you ask your potential clinic if this is the kind of first appointment that you can expect. At The Well Chiropractic Clinic, we do believe in this kind of much-needed and detailed analysis for every one of our patients and also develop a wellness program to help move you out of the pain phase and into healthier, long-term, more mobile living! Live Well. Be Well. Age Well. *Spine-Health online, “What to Expect at the First Chiropractic Consultation”
