First Chiropractic Visit
Are you nervous about your first chiropractic visit? Many people are but today I want to walk you through exactly what to expect during your initial appointment—from the consultation and examination to X-rays (if needed) and your first treatment recommendations. Understanding the process can help ease anxiety and ensure you’re prepared to take the first step toward better health.
At each of our offices you will always be greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello by one of our amazing office staff. They will be your first point of contact and will get you squared away with answering any questions you many have about health insurance, costs and many other common questions you many have before starting your care. Whether you’re dealing with neck pain, back pain, headaches, sciatica, or recovering from an injury, our staff will make you feel right at home. You will then head back to the consultation and exam room. This is where you will get to meet the doctor for the first time and where you will find the answers to why you are dealing with the pain/condition that brought you to see us. The doctor will typically ask some detailed questions to get a better understanding of how they can help, perform any test necessary to pinpoint the problem, take some X-Rays if necessary to gain additional insights.
Once the consultation and exam is complete, the doctor will typically start your treatment by applying a therapy to get you on your way to relief. Now this is only the beginning. There is still so much for you and your doctor to talk about regarding your condition. This is why we typically have new patients come back within 24 hours to go over all the necessary treatment details, number of visits, expectations at home, stretches to perform, etc. so that as the new patient you know exactly what the root cause of your pain/problem is and most importantly how to remedy it naturally.
Once all of the above has been accomplished, then we move into providing the chiropractic adjustment and getting you on your way to wellness. Now, keep in mind, every patient is unique and some procedures regarding the first chiropractic visit can be omitted or skipped, but this is the general framework in which we base all of our new patient appointments on. I hope this gives you some clarity on what to expect on your First Chiropractic Visit. Check out the video below to see our office in person.
